High limit switch keeps tripping

This job was in an apartment building located up in Cedar City Utah. The original HVAC contractor who installed the system didn’t put in enough ductwork which caused the high limit switch to keep tripping. The high limit switch is a safety mechanism to stop the furnace from getting too hot. In this case, the furnace couldn’t move enough air to keep it cool enough causing the switch to keep tripping. To make things worse we found a different high limit switch in the furnace which is rated for a higher temperature then what the furnace could handle. This is a huge safety hazard for the homeowner. We can only assume that because this is in an apartment complex and the same contractor installed all the units there are more HVAC systems installed just like this one.
